Cyber Squad

A student-led organization focused on cybersecurity education, training, and competitions.

Cyber Squad is a student-led organization at CSUSB dedicated to advancing cybersecurity knowledge and skills through hands-on training, workshops, and participation in cybersecurity competitions.

The group provides a collaborative environment where students can learn about various aspects of cybersecurity, including network security, penetration testing, digital forensics, and more.

Activities include:

  • Weekly training sessions and workshops
  • Participation in CTF (Capture The Flag) competitions
  • Networking with industry professionals
  • Collaborative learning and problem-solving
CMP (Cyber Mentorship Program)

A student-led program that pairs cyber student mentors with mentees to provide guidance and support.

The Cyber Mentorship Program (CMP) is a student-led initiative that combines cyber student mentors with cyber student mentees to provide comprehensive guidance and support.

The program is open to all cyber students and focuses on providing career guidance, resume development, and exposure to cybersecurity competitions. Mentors share their experiences and knowledge to help mentees navigate their academic and professional journeys.

The program offers:

WiCyS (Global Organization)

The global Women in Cybersecurity organization dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in cybersecurity.

Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) is a global community of women, allies, and advocates dedicated to bringing talented women together to celebrate and foster their passion and drive for cybersecurity.

WiCyS was established in 2012 by Dr. Ambareen Siraj of Tennessee Tech University through a National Science Foundation grant. The organization offers opportunities, resources, networking, mentorship, and has a global reach through conferences, career fairs, and local chapters.

WiCyS provides:

  • Annual conferences bringing together students, faculty, and professionals
  • Scholarship opportunities for students
  • Career development resources and job boards
  • Mentorship programs connecting students with industry professionals
